Welcome.

First, you have to download the HideTab extension file from the HideTab webpage and run it in firefox. To do this, click in the download link then a window titled Opening hidetab_1.0.xpi will appear. Select the “open with” option, click in the “browse” button, a window titled Choose helper application will open, select firefox from the list. Click in “OK” and “OK” again.

You can also download the .xpi file in your computer disk then drag and drop the file to any Firefox open window to achieve the same.

A window asking for your permission to install will appear. Click now on the “Install Now” button.

Now, Firefox needs to be restarted in order to installation of the tool take place. Click on the “Restart Firefox” button in the Add-ons window that appear.

Click in “Restart” button to confirm the firefox restarting.

Now Th HideTab extension will be Installed an ready to use. Check the right side of the firefox status bar (window bottom) for a tab-like icon.

To uninstall the extension, we have to open the add-ons panel under Tools->Add-ons.

In the add-ons panel window, under the extensions tab, scroll to find the HideTab entry and click on the “Uninstall“  button. Confirm the order clicking in the “Uninstall“  button again.

Click in the “restart firefox” button to complete the uninstall process.

Now your Firefox is free of HideTab.
